TERRY MYMRYK It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Terry Mymryk, on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at the age of 49 years. Deeply saddened is his wife and best friend of 25 years, Charlene; sons, Jason and Matthew; daughter Caitlin; sister Roseann Makinson (Keith); brothers, Raymond Mymryk (Cheryl) and Tim Mymryk (Monique); mother-in-law Louise Peterson; nieces, Tabitha Orza (Ryan) and Hayley Makinson; nephew Jeffery Makinson; great-nephew Ethan Orza; and great-niece Courtney Orza; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Nestor and Leona Mymryk; father-in-law Herbert Peterson; and nephew Harley Mymryk. Terry spent most of his free time with his family, especially cheering on Jay, Matty and Caity at the rink for speed skating meets and other sporting events. He dedicated countless hours to the sport of speed skating, serving as the President of the St. James Speed Skating Club and as a Timer for the Manitoba Speed Skating Association. Terry never complained about driving the kids to speed skating / soccer / baseball practices, drum lessons, orthodontist appointments, or the deafening punk rock music coming from the basement. He loved making everyone laugh, was positive at all times and always had a story to share, especially around the fire pit in the backyard. Terry also enjoyed a good golf game with uncles and friends. When he wasn't with family, Terry worked at SkyPro Aviation for many years. He often said that he loved it so much that he'd work there for free. Dan and the boys at SkyPro were like his second family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Pl. with Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamieson presiding. Honorary Pallbearers are Raymond Mymryk, Tim Mymryk, Keith Makinson, Dan Grierson, John McLean, Perry Switzer and Richard Wilson. Our family would like to thank Dr. Michael Stephenson, Dr. Joe Wiatrowski, Dr. Meyrowitz, the 3rd floor staff at Grace Hospital and all of our family and friends for their exceptional kindness and generosity during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Scotiabank Education Trust Fund for the Mymryk children (contact Karen Hargreaves (204-726-3387) or to a charity of one's choice. Terry's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • To the Mymryk family: Our family is deeply saddened by the news of Terry's death. We always regarded Terry as a consumate volunteer, in both ice speed skating and in inline skating. As well, he was an optimist when things were going wrong during an event and it was always a pleasure to watch him in action. He will be remembered by our family as someone to emulate.
